WASHBURN — The final score read Marquette 46, Lowpoint-Washburn 33, as the Crusaders outscored the Wildcats 32-18 in the first and third quarters in a Tri-County Conference triumph.
Logan Nelson led Marquette [9-3, 7-3] with 15 points, followed by eight from Beau Ewers and seven each from Lucas Hoffman and Nick Melvin.
Somonauk 66, Earlville 55: At Earlville, the Bobcats defeated the Red Raiders in Little Ten Conference action.
Somonauk [5-4, 3-2] was led by Alex Krejci’s 21 points and Coleton Eade’s 20, with Brock Zimmerman posting 11 points and 10 rebounds. Earlville [3-3, 3-2] received 12 points from Griffin Cook, 11 from Noah Lemke, and 10 from Bryar Keller.
Newark 48, Hinckley-Big Rock 36: The Norsemen notched the LTC win behind Jared Slivka’s 15 points, Zach Carlson’s 11 and nine from Austin Tollefson.
Fieldcrest 88, Lexington 50: At Lexington, the Knights rolled to the road Heart of Illinois Conference victory over the Minutemen. Jaxon Cusac-McKay [21 points], Andrew May [15], Henry Lorton [14] and Bryce Nordstrom [12] led Fieldcrest.

Serena 58, Hinckley-Big Rock 12: At Serena, Taylor Staton poured in a game-best 19 points to lead the Lady Huskers to the Little Ten Conference victory. Katie Baker chipped in a balanced night of nine points, four rebounds, six steals and seven assists for SHS [3-2, 2-0 LTC].
Sophomore/JV boys basketball
Henry-Senachwine 52, Woodland 41: At the Warrior Dome, Jonathan Moore scored a game-high 16 and Mason Sterling 15 for the JV Warriors.
Streator 47, Herscher 20: At Pops Dale Gymnasium, the Bullpups led 15-2 after one quarter and 32-8 at halftime in the win. Nick Yanek led the balanced Streator [8-0] scoring with 11 points, followed by 10 from Parker Philis, eight from Jake Luckey and six apiece from Adam Williamson and Kody Danko.
Ottawa 65, Sandwich 46: At Sandwich the Corsairs were paced by Levi Sheehan’s 17 points and five assists, Payton Knoll’s 13 points, Conner Price’s 11 points and nine rebounds, and Aiden Mucci’s 10-point night.
Sophomore/JV girls basketball
Ottawa 35, Sandwich 15: At Kingman Gym, the Lady Corsairs raced out to a 14-2 first-period lead and coasted to the win behind 10 points from Grace Carroll and seven from Morgan Stone.
For Sandwich, Allison Olson popped in six points.
