3 Things to Know About Spring Semester at Morton College

Although the Spring 2021 semester began on January 19th, Morton College is offering some late-starting Spring classes, a new Free Laptop Program with an extended deadline, and a one-time Panther Forgiveness Program to help students succeed in their quest for a degree from Morton College. Here are 3 things to know about MC’s spring semester:

1. Some classes will be starting later in the semester. “Students could’ve registered up through the first week of classes, with no late fees assessed, with faculty approval,” explained Courtney O’Brien, Director of Admissions/Registrar for Morton College. “For those who missed that deadline, we are offering some classes with a later start date. To view the courses available, visit https://selfservice.morton.edu/Student/Courses.”

2. Morton College is offering a new Free Laptop Program for students. “We’re providing brand new laptop computers to new and currently enrolled students so they have the technology tools they need to succeed,” added O’Brien. “Students need to complete the Laptop Form before the deadline of January 29th; to access the form online, visit http://bit.ly/MCLaptopProgram. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of one course (3 credit hours).” Students receiving a laptop agree to return it at the end of the Spring 2021 semester (May 27th). Students with a GPA of 2.0 or higher who enroll in the Fall 2021 semester may keep the laptop for the remainder of their studies at Morton College.

3. The Panther Balance Forgiveness Grant Initiative is a one-time program that serves to remove financial barriers so students can continue working on completing their degree. “Students with balances for Spring, Summer and Fall 2020 semesters may be able to receive a grant of up to $500 off their previous balance to enroll for Spring 2021,” said O’Brien. “Students won’t be dropped for non-payment, and won’t have to pay re-testing fees for placement exams.”
