WHEATON – The American Lung Association in Greater Chicago’s LUNG FORCE Walk, presented by Northwestern Medicine, will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 17 at Cantigny Park in Wheaton.
Hundreds of individuals, families, groups of friends and corporate teams throughout the greater Chicago area are expected take part. Participants will stroll, saunter or power-walk through the scenic park for three miles. The event is held to raise awareness and money to fight lung disease and end COVID-19, a press release stated.
The walk runs from 10 a.m. to noon at Cantigny Park, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton.
Funds raised at the LUNG FORCE Walk will fund the Lung Association’s efforts to end lung cancer and lung disease, as well as support its COVID-19 Action Initiative. The latter is a $25 million investment to address COVID-19 and protect against future respiratory virus pandemics. The initiative works with public and private entities to increase research collaboration and develop new vaccines, detection tests and treatment therapies.
