Leslie Goddard to portray Lizzie Borden at Glen Ellyn History Center

Infamous historic character Lizzie Borden will be portrayed by Leslie Goddard at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Glen Ellyn History Center.

Everyone remembers the old poem: “Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks,” organizers stated in a news release. No one knows for sure who killed Borden’s parents, so Goddard tries to provide a better understanding of Lizzie and her complicated life. Goddard is an award-winning scholar and actor, known for her dramatic portrayals of historical figures.

The Glen Ellyn History Center is at 800 N. Main St. Admission costs $8, $5 for students ages 18 and younger and $6 for members of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society, which presents the program.
