Downers Grove house fire victim identified

The identity of a man who died after a fire Friday in Downers Grove has been released.

The man was 45-year-old Rafiq Ali, according to the DuPage County coroner’s office.

The fire was reported at 9:44 p.m. on the 6600 block of Dunham Road. Firefighters found Ali near the front door, He was pronounced dead at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

No one else was in the house.

Downers Grove officials have not said what may have caused the fire.
