Fire causes extensive damage to Woodridge house

A Thursday morning fire caused extensive damage to a Woodridge house.

Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District firefighters responded at 7:48 a.m. to the house fire on the 6000 block of Foxtree Avenue, according to a news release. When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the second floor and roof of the two-story home,

The fire was under control in about 20 minutes. Companies remained on the scene until approximately 12:30 p.m. to perform salvage duties, officials said.

No one was injured in the blaze, but the house was deemed uninhabitable by a representative from the Woodridge building department.

Firefighters from the Tri-State Fire District, Darien-Woodridge Fire District and Downers Grove Fire Department assisted.

An investigation is being completed by the Lisle-Woodridge fire investigation team. The home was turned over to the Woodridge police and building departments.
