16th Street Theater in Berwyn alerts fans to streaming reprise of ‘Unveiled’

“Since 2009, so many of you have asked us here at 16th Street, ‘If Rohina Malik ever performs Unveiled again, please do tell!’ – well, here you go,” announced the Berwyn-based theater troupe.

It notes that New Rep in Watertown, Massachusetts, offers Malik’s virtual performance now through April 18.

She portrays five diverse Muslim women in a post-9/11 world. While each serves their favorite tea, each uncovers what lies beneath the veil in this critically acclaimed one-woman show.

“While we sure miss live theater, we relish the chance to see stories like Rohina’s reach more people,” the 16th Street Theater news release stated.

The troupe developed and premiered ‘Unveiled’ in 2009 at 6420 16th St. in Berwyn.

“In 2010, we brought it back with a co-production at Victory Gardens in Chicago,” the release stated.

Through April 18, “Unveiled” is available to view virtually at New Rep. For tickets, visit www.newrep.org/productions/unveiled-digital.
