Former Nazareth star Franchesca Metz scored a game-high 18 points and hit four three-pointers, and seventh-seeded Morton College knocked off second-seeded Johnson County 62-57 in the second round of the NJCAA Division II National Tournament on Wednesday in Port Huron, Mich.
Mia Simpson added 12 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals for Morton and Tadriana Heard added 13 points.
Morton advances to the national semifinals to play at 5 p.m. Friday against No. 3 seed CCBC Essex (MD), who are 34-0.
