Concert on Courthouse Lawn on Thursday night

The Concerts on the Courthouse Lawn series continues Thursday night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the lawn of the Grundy County Courthouse.

Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and relax in the cool breezes of a summer night and enjoy a great concert, performed by Jonathan Devin & New Country.

Mobile Food Truck

The Northern Illinois Food Bank’s truck will hand out groceries Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Goodwill, 414 Arthur Ave. in Morris. The food is free for neighbors in need. No ID, proof of address or proof of income is required. Food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

Junk in the Trunk

Junk in the Trunk will host its community sale Sunday, weather permitting. The location is 100 Commercial Drive, which is located behind the Walgreens on Route 47 in Morris. Junk in the Trunk is an open-air flea market that takes place out of the back of vendors’ cars, trucks and vans. There is a $10 donation for each spot, which will be given to charity. Admission is free to the public.

No clothing, mass-produced or imported items, or commercial vendors are allowed. Antiques, collectibles, tools, household items, crafts and homemade items are accepted. This event will take place the third Sunday of each month through October.

Hines Mobile Medical Unit at Gardner

Veterans who wish to receive care from the Hines mobile medical unit need to be enrolled with the Veterans Health Administration, or they can bring a copy of their DD Form 214 to validate eligibility and apply for services. The unit will be at the South Resource Center, 229 Liberty St. in Gardner, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.

Sunday Funday

The Morris Retail Association will be holding a Sunday Funday on June 27 in downtown Morris. Morris downtown stores, many of which are closed Sundays, will open their doors from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is the first of three Sunday Fundays that the association has planned.
