Let’s light up Liberty!

Donations sought for more celebration lighting

MORRIS – Have you noticed the new celebration lighting at Liberty and Washington streets? The Morris Downtown Development Partnership has received nothing but positive comments on the new lighting and would like to continue to light up Liberty.

Lighting at key intersections in downtown Morris will not only enhance evening events but help draw visitors to Morris’ amazing downtown. Plans are in place for additional lighting at Liberty and Main, Liberty and Jefferson, Liberty and Jackson and Liberty and North. But the MDDP needs residents’ help. Any donation is sincerely appreciated. Send checks to Morris Downtown Development Partnership, 105 E. Main St., Suite 302, Morris, IL 60450. Note on the check that the donation is for celebration lighting.

Those with questions may contact Julie Applegate at 815-941-0245 or mddp@downtownmorris.com. When considering a donation, MDDP staff suggests residents check with their accountants to see if their contribution would be tax deductible, as the MDDP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
