Offices up for election are municipal, township, park and library offices; unit, grade and high school board members; community college and Regional Board of Education trustees; and fire protection district trustees.

Early voting is available from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday through April 5, at the county clerk’s office, Grundy County Courthouse, 111 E. Washington St. in Morris.

Additional early voting hours are 9 a.m. to noon March 6; 9 a.m. to noon March 27; 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. March 30; and 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. April 1. Early voting will be closed April 2 for spring holiday.

Vote by mail: Voters who wish to cast a vote-by-mail ballot may contact the clerk’s office at 815-941-3222, ext. 1, to obtain the necessary application. Applications also may be obtained under the Election Information tab at www.grundyco.org or by emailing elections@grundyco.org.

No excuse is needed to vote by mail. Voters are encouraged to apply as early as possible to ensure the ballot is received in time. Ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by the Grundy County Clerk’s Office within 14 days. The last day a ballot may be mailed is April 1.

Ballot integrity: Unless you require assistance, do not allow anyone else to mark your ballot.

Also, do not let anyone force or coerce you into voting for any candidate and do not let anyone, other than a close relative or authorized messenger, mail, deliver or handle your ballot. Residents are advised that making a false statement to obtain a mail-in ballot or soliciting someone to do so is considered voter fraud, a criminal offense punishable by up to five years in prison.

Voters with questions or wanting more information should contact the Grundy County Clerk’s Office at 815-941-3222, ext. 1, or email elections@grundyco.org.
