Mason to host virtual utility bill clinic on July 21

Residents can make appointments for one-on-one, 30-minute appointments

GURNEE – State Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, is partnering with the Citizens Utility Board to host a virtual Utility Bill Clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. July 21.

“This is a free opportunity for Lake County residents to check to make sure they are not overpaying on their utility bills,” Mason said in a news release. ”Even though the General Assembly is not in session, I am continuing my mission to help area residents by hosting free events that can give them some immediate financial relief.”

Beginning at 6 p.m. July 21, Mason is hosting a virtual Utility Bill Clinic with experts from CUB to review gas, electric, water and phone bills to explain possible hidden charges or offer suggestion on ways consumers can lower their bills.

Residents can register for a 30-minute one-on-one appointment by going online at or by contacting Mason’s constituent office at 847-485-9986. Participants will be sent call login information upon registering and will be asked to provide current utility bills to show the CUB expert.

“I encourage residents to register for an online appointment so they can speak one-on-one with CUB from the comfort of their home about ways they can save on their energy and other utility bills,” Mason said. “In addition to cost saving tips, people can learn about different ways they can be more sustainable with their home energy consumption.”
