Wauconda bike shop to host group ride

Neighborhood Palooza event to take place June 19 to include food, live music

WAUCONDA – As part of the nationwide “Hello Fun Tour,” Pedego Electric Bikes Wauconda, also known as Main Street Outfitter Bike Shop, is hosting a neighborhood Palooza event from noon to 10 p.m. June 19.

The event will feature a Pedego group ride, catered food, live music and more. Pedego Director of Business Development Cynthia Newcomb and Pedego Director of Customer Service Wendy Denny will be in attendance to connect with local Pedego enthusiasts.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our Pedego community with this Palooza event,” said Paul Wheatland, owner of Pedego Electric Bikes Wauconda. “Pedego is all about building community and cultivating adventure, which is exactly the spirit of our upcoming event.”

Wheatland opened the doors to his Pedego store in 2016 after falling in love with the brand and mission. He previously worked in the wireless phone business for more than 30 years.

“After experiencing a Pedego Electric Bike for myself, I knew I wanted to share that same experience with my local community,” Wheatland said. “Wauconda is a small town with some of the best people you will ever meet. It’s been the perfect community to grow the Pedego family.”

Pedego Electric Bikes Wauconda is a locally owned business that offers additional services aside from electric bikes sales.

“We also rent out recreational water gear like kayaks and paddleboards,” Wheatland said. “The most unique thing about our store is that we also operate as a bar and restaurant with live music. It’s just another way we can foster connection and bring our community closer together.”

The event is one stop of many on Pedego’s 2021 Hello Fun Tour. With stops in more than 80 communities, the Hello Fun Tour will highlight more than 40 new store openings, adding to the brand’s footprint of more than 175 locally owned locations.

Pedego Electric Bikes Wauconda is at 513 S Main St.
