Fremont Library Board seeks to fill open seat

Appointee would serve until April 2023 to cover final 2 years of term

MUNDELEIN -- The Board of Trustees of the Fremont Public Library District is seeking applicants to fill the remaining two years of a an open seat on the board. The appointed term will last until April 2023, covering the final two years of the original four-year term.

The Board has established a nominating committee that will recommend a candidate to the Board for appointment. Interested candidates should send a letter of intent and a resume to Scott Davis, Library Director, Fremont Public Library District, 1170 N. Midlothian Rd., Mundelein, IL 60060. Deadline for submissions is Friday April 30. Interviews will take place on May 6.

Library trustee is a volunteer position that requires attendance at monthly meetings, various committee assignments, and a commitment to the continued success of the Fremont Public Library District. Board responsibilities involve establishing policy and overseeing finances for a growing district library to meet the needs of a diverse community. The Fremont Public Library District consists of parts of nine villages, encompassing all of Fremont Township and part of western Libertyville Township.

Per State law, a Public Library District trustee must be at least 18 years of age, a registered voter and a resident of the library district. A person is not eligible to serve if in arrears in the payment of a tax or other indebtedness due to the library district or has been convicted in any court located in the United States of any infamous crime, bribery, perjury, or other felony.
