Sheriff’s deputies arrest one person who was wanted on a DUI warrant

WAUKEGAN – Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg announced that during the recent Super Bowl traffic safety campaign, sheriff’s deputies arrested an individual who was wanted on a DUI warrant.

Another individual was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, Idleburg said.

Additionally, sheriff’s deputies issued 11 citations for drivers who either did not have a driver’s license or were driving with a suspended or revoked license. Twenty-six speeding citations and 21 failure to wear seat belt citations were issued.

The Super Bowl weekend enforcement effort ran from Feb. 5 through the early morning hours of Feb. 8. The law enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
