GURNEE – To make her constituent service office more accessible to residents, state Rep. Joyce Mason, D-Gurnee, will begin hosting virtual office hours on the first and third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon and on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 5 to 7 p.m.
“As a single mom, I understand how difficult it can be for working residents to fit in appointments during normal weekday business hours,” Mason said in a news release. “While I and my staff are always happy to schedule meetings outside of our regular business hours, I wanted to designate some specific, recurring times where individuals are able to meet with my office without having to take time off of work or needing to schedule an appointment with my staff.”
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mason’s new office hours will be offered virtually through Zoom. Residents may enter the Zoom meeting room on a computer, tablet or smartphone using the appropriate link. Individuals may call into the Zoom meeting room. In the interest of privacy, only one resident will be admitted into the Zoom meeting room at a time.

“These newly established office hours will make it easier for community members to connect with my office and for my staff to provide critical state services to a wider range of residents,” Mason said. “Making sure our government is accessible to all the people it serves is incredibly important to me, and I look forward to finding new ways to continue bringing more openness and availability to the services my office provides.”
