High school sports roundup for Wednesday, May 25: Yorkville baseball beats Bolingbrook, advances to regional final

Matthew Bivens was 3 for 4 with two doubles and two runs scored and Lorenzo Rios slugged a two-run homer to break the game open late in the Class 4A Yorkville Regional semifinal. Winning pitcher Michael Hilker (8-1) threw a complete game, allowing two runs on six hits with three strikeouts. Gavin Dobbels was 2 for 3 with a double, run scored and an RBI.

The Foxes (29-7) advance to play the Naperville North-Plainfield North winner in Saturday’s regional final.
