Letter: Get both sides of the story

To the Editor:

In the Dec. 16 edition of this paper, a Forum contributor implied that “Trump, social media and Fox News” are the cause of our country’s problems, and that only Republican “selfishness and stupidity” were standing in the way of solving the pandemic. Wow! In his mind I guess the Republican Party is now responsible for a worldwide pandemic, too.

While I’m not a fan of most social media, I would argue that it is only Fox News and some conservative websites that are preventing the total brainwashing of our population by mainstream media and liberal news sites such as CNN and MSNBC. I was always taught that there are two sides to every story, and the truth is usually somewhere in between. I would hope that in a free society like we have in America, individuals would be willing and allowed to search out the facts for themselves from all sources, and make informed decisions as to what is best for them and their family based on that information.

Biden is still calling this a pandemic of the unvaccinated even though several outbreaks are happening among those who are fully vaccinated, and telling Americans to get vaccinated so they don’t spread the disease while his own CDC director says that the vaccine cannot prevent transmission. This is not the first time Biden has made comments that are just not true, and the liberal media just follows along. That is why we need news sites such as Fox News, to get both sides of the story.
