Letter: Pledge to be fiscally responsible

keyboard, letter to the editor

To the Editor:

I am Kit Kuhrt and I am running for Oswego Village Trustee. As the village of Oswego continues to grow, we need responsible individuals with a multitude of real-world experience that will keep our villagers first in mind. We have many big projects on the horizon that need hard in-depth looks. I will be fiscally responsible, transparent and accountable to the residents of Oswego.

My opponents made statements when they ran in 2017 that included, “reduce the property tax burden of our residents,” and “automatically distribute local revenues back to Oswego.” Sadly, this didn’t happen. Instead, they increased sales tax, food and beverage tax, fuel tax, water rates and even proposed a tax on plastic shopping bags. They voted against our new Village Board’s property tax cuts and water rate reduction, even saying, “Don’t leave money on the table” when referring to our tax dollars.

I pledge to be fiscally responsible with your tax dollars. Please vote Kit Kuhrt on April 6 for your Oswego Village Trustee. Email: kitkuhrtfortrustee@gmail.com.
