Yorkville police referred a Yorkville Middle School student to the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s office for juvenile charges after investigating a battery that occurred Nov. 18 at the school. Police said officers determined that a student had struck another student on school grounds. The Yorkville Police Department was assisted in its investigation by Yorkville School District 115 administrators.

Possession of alcohol

Yorkville police referred a Yorkville Middle School student to the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office for a charge of possession of alcohol by a minor after investigating a report of possession of alcohol Nov. 17 at the school. Police said officers determined that a student had brought alcohol onto school grounds. The Yorkville Police Department was assisted in its investigation by Yorkville School District 115 administrators.

Failure to yield

Yorkville police cited Edward Ptak, 29, of the 4000 block of 2900th Road, Newark, for failure to yield and driving without mandatory insurance after responding to a traffic accident at 12:04 p.m. Nov. 26 in the area of Route 47 and Fountainview Drive. No injuries were reported.

No valid license

Yorkville police cited Sofia Lopez, 43, of the 300 block of Alyssa Street, Plano, for driving without a valid license after responding to a traffic accident at 2:48 p.m. Nov. 27 in the area of Route 34 and Route 47. No injuries were reported.
