Police notified of theft

Oswego police were notified of a theft that occurred in the 400 block of Highland Court at 2:30 p.m. July 18. Police said the victim in the incident sent $2,000 to someone after being threatened. Police said they are investigating.

Puppy purchase scam reported

A resident of the 300 block of Bluegrass Parkway told Oswego police July 17 that she was scammed out of $450 while attempting to buy a puppy on Facebook earlier that day.

Property damage

Oswego police are investigating an incident of criminal damage to property that occurred at 11:23 p.m. July 16 at a residence in the 300 block of Taft Drive.

Bicycle theft reported

A juvenile told Oswego police that his bicycle was stolen at 3:30 p.m July 16 in the 100 block of Old Post Road. Police said the bicycle is valued at $500.

Warrant arrest

Oswego police arrested Vernon Cole, 47, of the 2000 block of Farmington Lakes Drive, Oswego, at 12:16 a.m. July 11 on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving while license suspended. Police said the suspect later posted bond at the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville and was released pending a court appearance.

Aggravated speeding ticket

Oswego police ticketed Rosaly I. Del Rio, 18, of the 400 block of Watson street, Aurora, with speeding in excess of 26-34 mph over the posted speed limit at 8:25 p.m. July 19 on Route 71 near Panther Drive. Police said Del Rio posted bond at the scene and was given a court date.
