Hit-and-run under investigation

Oswego police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred at 10:10 p.m. May 9 on Madison and Douglas streets in the village’s downtown, according to village police. No injuries were reported in the crash.

Retail theft charge

Oswego police arrested Nicholas J. Giesen, 25, of the 1100 block of Iroquois Avenue, Naperville, at 4 p.m. May 9 at a store in the 2500 block of Route 34, Oswego, on a charge of retail theft, village police reported. Giesen attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise valued at $499, police said in a statement. The suspect was transported to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.

More than $4,100 stolen in ID theft case

An Oswego resident told village police May 6 that someone used their Social Security number without permission to open a Verizon wireless account in December. A total of $4,122 was charged to the account over the past past five months, police were told.

Domestic battery charge

Oswego police arrested Jose Aguirre, no age given, of the 200 block of South Adams Street, Oswego, at 4:18 p.m. May 6 in the 20th block of Tyler Street on a charge of domestic battery. Police said the suspect was transported to the Kendall County Jail pending court proceedings.

Battery at store under investigation

Oswego police are investigating a report of a battery that occurred at 3:15 a.m. May 4 at a store in the 2300 block of Route 34. Police said a 25-year-old man was the uninjured victim in the incident.
