Kendall County Extension hosts new ‘All About 4-H’ open house

Start off the new year by learning how your family can explore their interests, find their passions, get involved in the community, and grow into their best selves.

4-H Youth Development programs give young people access to experiences that empower them to feel a sense of belonging, independence, generosity, and mastery. To help residents better understand the Kendall County 4-H program, University of Illinois Extension will host an “All About 4-H” open house on Friday, Jan. 21 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Yorkville.

Stations at the event will cover 4-H topics such as: projects, fair season, records and awards, county and state experiences, leadership opportunities, and alumni and volunteer roles. Through 4-H, youth can explore many areas of study, including animal sciences, creative arts, environmental sciences, health and nutrition, college and career readiness, global awareness, STEM, and more.
