Let’s rock! Crowds enjoy music, carnival at Oswego Vet Fest

Benefit event held in support and celebration of veterans, police and first responders

A four-day Oswego festival celebrated the sacrifices and work of veterans, law enforcement and first responders over the weekend.

The annual Vet Fest was the first major event that took place at the village of Oswego’s new outdoor entertainment venue, Venue 1012 located along Station Drive just west of Orchard Road.

Vet Fest is sponsored by non-profit organization Vet Fest 141 “committed to honoring the United States military community through the power of music.”

From Thursday, Aug. 26 - Aug. 29, bands including LOCASH, 7th Heaven, and The Man in Black entertained on the entertainment venue stage, while families could enjoy a carnival next to the venue.

Legendary rocker Vince Neil took the stage during Vet Fest Saturday night, performing classic hits from Motley Crue to a large and enthusiastic audience.

During the four-day celebration, donations were also made to support the organization Folds of Honor, which provides educational scholarships to the families of fallen and disabled servicemen and women.
