Senior Services hosting barbecue and big band night Sept. 2

Senior Services Associates and the United City of Yorkville will be hosting a barbecue and big band night as part of the Hometown Days celebration on Thursday, Sept. 2, at the Beecher Center, 908 Game Farm Road in Yorkville.

Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and the Yorkville Big Band will perform from 5 to 7 p.m.

Dinner will be catered by 5-B’s with the choice of two barbecue pork chops, half a barbecue chicken or a combination. Dinners will include baked beans, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter. Dine under the tent or a carry out a meal. The event will take place rain or shine.

Tickets are available at the Beecher Center for $13 a dinner or $25 for two dinners. Payment may be made by cash or check, made out to Senior Services. Deadline for ticket sales is Aug. 26. Proceeds will support the programs and services of Senior Services Associates in Kendall County.
