UPDATE: Two seriously injured in crash on Route 126 at Grove Road south of Oswego

Two people were seriously injured in a crash at approximately 11:50 a.m. July 27 on Route 126 at Grove Road in unincorporated NaAuSay Township south of Oswego, according to Illinois State Police.

In a press statement, state police said the crash occurred when a motorist who was traveling northbound on Grove Road disobeyed a stop sign and struck a vehicle that was proceeding westbound on Route 126 on the driver’s side.

The driver of the vehicle that was proceeding westbound on Route 126 was air lifted by helicopter to an area hospital with serious injuries, while paramedics transported a juvenile passenger in the same vehicle to an area hospital, also with serious injuries.

Route 126 was closed for approximately three hours as state police conducted an investigation.

In addition to state police, personnel from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and Oswego and Plainfield Fire Protection Districts responded to the crash scene.
