Free public parking deck now open for downtown Oswego shoppers and diners

Motorists can now park in a new public parking deck on the first two levels of The Reserve at Hudson Crossing development in downtown Oswego.

In a statement issued Wednesday, May 12, the village announced it had officially taken ownership of the parking deck, which has entrances on Harrison and Adams streets. Parking in the deck is free and open from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

To park, simply pull up to the door. If the door is closed, such as during inclement weather, it will open on approach.

The deck includes a total of 339 parking spaces. Of those, 180 are available on the deck’s lower level with an entrance on Harrison Street. Another 159 spaces are available on the upper level, with an entrance on Adams Street. The two levels do not connect inside. However, a counter system with a digital display showing available spots on each level will be installed this summer at each entrance.

“I am happy to make this parking deck available to our residents and visitors,” Village President Troy Parlier said in the statement. “With all the new restaurants we are welcoming into downtown over the next year, this additional convenient parking will serve our residents and our small businesses well.”

Additional on-street parking has also been added along Adams, Jackson, and Harrison streets and is now open to the public.

The parking deck is now owned by the village as part of the redevelopment agreement with Shodeen, the developer of The Reserve at Hudson Crossing.

Overnight parking is allowed by permit for eligible downtown residents. For more information on applying for an overnight parking permit, visit oswegoil.org/parking.
