Master Gardener plant sale just around the corner

Give your gardens a boost and give back to the community with the annual Kendall County Master Gardener Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at the University of Illinois Extension office, 7775B IL Route 47, Yorkville.

The sale will include native plants, vegetable transplants, and nursery-stock perennials, with shopping open in Yorkville.

The Master Gardener volunteers started more than 600 vegetable seedlings, including 14 varieties of tomatoes and eight pepper varieties. Payments may be made by cash or check. Proceeds support the Kendall County Master Gardener program and community projects.

Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions, and provide free presentations – including “Raising Monarch Butterflies” with Patricia Baroni of Montgomery at 9:30 a.m.

At the sale, physical distancing and face masks will be required. This event could be impacted by weather or by updated guidelines from Illinois Department of Public Health or University of Illinois. Updates will be available at go.illinois.edu/KendallMasterGardenerPlantSale2021.

For questions or if you need reasonable accommodation to participate, call the office at 630-553-5823 or email fellerer@illinois.edu. Early requests are strongly encouraged to allow time for meeting your needs.
