Juvenile facing attempted murder charge in Plano stabbing incident

The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office has approved charges against a 15-year-old male juvenile in connection with a reported May 5 stabbing incident in Plano.

The juvenile is charged with attempted first degree murder, a Class X felony, and aggravated battery, a Class A misdemeanor, according to a post on the Plano Police Department’s Facebook page.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing incident at approximately 6:30 p.m., May 5, in the 900 block of West South Street in Plano, according to Plano police.

In a statement, police said a 22-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Police said officers collected evidence and interviewed the victim and witnesses at the scene.

The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Juvenile Justice Center in St. Charles.
