‘Electrical issue’ cited in Montgomery house fire

An “electrical issue” caused a fire at 3:17 p.m. May 7 in a two-story single family home in the 2600 block of Caliendo Circle on Montgomery’s far west side, according to the Oswego Fire Protection District.

In a statement, the fire district reported the residence sustained smoke and water damage resulting in a loss of $300,000.

In the statement, the fire district said upon arriving the scene, firefighters found the residence with a fully involved fire inside the garage extending to the front of the residence and into the attic.

“An aggressive fire attack was made and the fire was under control in 15 minutes,” the statement reads.

Personnel from the Plainfield, Bristol-Kendall and Sugar Grove Fire Protection Districts assisted Oswego firefighters as they fought the blaze.

No injuries were reported.
