Oswego School District 308 announces February PRIDE winners

Oswego School District 308

Oswego School District 308 has announced its February winners of the PRIDE (Proudly Recognizing Individuals Demonstrating Excellence) Recognition Program.

The District’s PRIDE program was implemented in the Fall of 2015 to recognize, promote and celebrate the many contributions made by teachers and employees. Due to COVID restrictions, this program was temporarily placed on hold at the start of the 2020-2021 school year.

“We are honored to recognize these individuals for their contributions to our schools and our students,” said Dr. John Sparlin, superintendent of schools in a statement issued by the district. “Through their magnificent work, dedication and commitment, these individuals help support our students and staff to work towards their goals.”

This year, each school submitted a teacher and an employee nomination to the district to be eligible for the PRIDE program. These building-level nominees were then randomly drawn through “WheelofNames” on Facebook (four teachers and two employees) as the district’s PRIDE winners.

The winners for the month of February 2021 are:

Allied First Bank - Teachers of the Month:

  • Karen Jordan, Homestead Elementary, Aurora
  • Kris Murgas, Lakewood Creek, Montgomery
  • Colleen Predl, Oswego High School, Oswego
  • Stan Brown, Plank Junior High School, Oswego

Huntington Learning Center/Chick-fil-A - Employees of the Month:

  • Paige Leigh, Hunt Club Elementary, Oswego
  • Susan Bliss, Old Post Elementary, Oswego

The winners each received recognition and prizes from various District Partner sponsors including: Allied First Bank, Huntington Learning Center, Chick-fil-A, and Culver’s.
