Oswego Fire Protection District Firefighters extinguished a fire in a multi-unit commercial building in the Will County portion of the fire district Sunday afternoon, Feb. 28.

In a statement, the fire district reported that no one was hurt in the blaze, but damage to the building was estimated at $50,000.

Firefighters were summoned to the fire at 12:05 p.m. in the building located in the 10000 block of Clow Creek Road in the Wheatland Industrial Park, located near Aurora.

The building was unoccupied and firefighters were able to confine the blaze to the one business.

Since there are no fire hydrants along Clow Creek Road in the vicinity of the building, firefighters set up a water tender truck to provide water to fight the fire.

“(Fire) companies made entry into the unit and made an aggressive interior attack,” the statement reads.

Oswego firefighters were assisted at the scene by the Aurora Fire Department, Plainfield Fire Protection District, Minooka Fire Department, and the MABAS Division 15 Fire Investigators. The Plainfield Fire Protection District and Troy Fire Protection District provided station coverage in the Oswego Fire Protection District during the incident
