Gallery: Oswego School District families hold car rally in support of in-person instruction

Families desiring a return to in-person learning in Oswego School District 308 schools gathered at Oswego East High School on Monday evneing, Jan. 11, to make their voices heard before the Board of Education meeting.

Started by the social media group Rally to Open SD308 for ALL Students, about 25 cars filled with students and parents wanting to return to the classroom gathered in the school’s parking lot.

As board members and district administrators arrived, passengers in the cars made their voices heard with signs waving and horns honking.

The Rally group’s About section on Facebook states that the group, “is committed to the in-person education of our children. We understand the effects that Covid-19 has had on you and your family but, we BELIEVE that the in-person education outweighs the risk from Covid-19 and remote learning.”

The district will begin a hybrid learning plan Jan. 19, with plans to switch to a hybrid plan allowing students more time in school in February.
