Montgomery police arrest Aurora resident on felony DUI charges

Montgomery police arrested Suzely Maldonado-Leija, 35, of the 300 block of Gregory Lane, Aurora, after stopping the vehicle she was driving at 9:55 p.m. July 23 on Route 30 at Route 31.

In a press statement, police said officers stopped Maldonado-Leija’s vehicle after observing it commit several traffic violations.

After officers had pulled over Maldonado-Leija’s vehicle, another motorist stopped at the scene and advised officers that the suspect’s vehicle had struck their vehicle and left the scene.

Police said Maldonado-Leija was arrested on three charges of felony driving under the influence, classified as Class 4 felonies, when it was learned that she had previously had her license revoked for a prior DUI charge.

The suspect was transported to the Kane County Jail in St. Charles where her bail has been set at $15,000, according to Kane County Sheriff’s data.
