Yorkville man arrested on assault charge in incident with pizza delivery driver

Yorkville police arrested Robert T. Burnett Jr., 25, of the 500 block of West Kendall Drive, Yorkville, on a charge of assault after responding to a report of a verbal altercation at 10:22 p.m., July 20, in the area of the Yorkville Town Square.

In a press statement, police said officers were told Burnett ordered a pizza and when it arrived paid the delivery person $40 “and was demanding change.”

“At this point he balled up his fists and yelled at the victim,” police said in the statement.

The victim was in fear of “receiving a battery” and signed complaints with police for assault, according to the statement.

Burnett was released on his own recognizance.
