Yorkville police took a report of what they described as the “attempted luring” of a juvenile into a vehicle Monday afternoon, June 21.

In a press statement, police said a suspicious vehicle approached the juvenile, a female, between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Aster Drive in the Sunflower Estates subdivision on the city’s south side.

The driver of the vehicle, a male, asked the juvenile to get into the back of the vehicle and offered her candy, according to police. The victim was unable to provide an age or race of the male, but described him as having brown, ear-length hair, and said that he is believed to drive a white SUV or van.

This was the only reported incident, the press statement read, and the report to police was delayed by several hours.
