Second suspect charged with possession of a controlled substance

Oswego police arrested a Lansing man on felony weapons charges after stopping his vehicle for a speeding violation at 1 a.m. March 7 on Orchard Road near Galena Road on the village’s far west side.

In a statement, police said a loaded handgun was found in the suspect’s vehicle.

Police said the suspect, Deaundre J. Carey, 27, of the 18000 block of West Salem Court, was charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and armed habitual criminal.

Another occupant in the vehicle, Tyshone D. Johnson, 24, of the 1000 block of 13th Avenue, Maywood, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Police said both suspects were transported to the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.
