High school sports roundup for Thursday, Sept. 9: Yorkville Christian volleyball stays undefeated

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Yorkville Christian d. Islamic Foundation 25-6, 25-9

Zoe Schuberth had eight service points, seven aces and two digs and Nina Schuberth 10 assists, three kills, seven aces and nine points for the Mustangs (5-0). Chloe Saxe added five assists, eight kills and six points and Mikayla Highland three blocks.

Newark d. Hinckley-Big Rock 25-10, 25-16

Lauren Ulrich had 17 assists and nine digs, Taylor Kruser 14 digs and two aces, Lindsey Hatteberg five kills and an ace and KJ Friestad four kills for the Lady Norsemen (9-1, 3-0 Little Ten Conference).

Oswego East 3, Joliet Central 0

The Wolves scored three second-half goals to improve to 6-0 on the season, 3-0 in conference.

Oswego 180, Sandwich 198

Medalist Jack Rimington shot a 37 to lead the Panthers to a dual meet win at Edgebrook Golf Course. Ty Aherns carded a 44, Ryan Soyke a 49 and Justin Winters a 50 for Oswego. For Sandwich, Michael Barbey shot a 45, Nick Sullivan a 49, Sam Dawson a 51 and Jacob Kuntz a 53.

Yorkville

The Foxes defeated Plainfield Central in the SPC dual meet finale. Ryan Waugh led Yorkville with a 40, Michael Hilker followed with a 42 and Mikey Bass and Nick DiVito each shot 44.

Joliet Co-Op 186, Yorkville 211

Yorkville’s Mia Natividad shot a 37 to earn medalist honors in the dual meet at Blackberry Oaks. Laine Leonard added a 48.

Seneca 224, Plano 232

Plano’s Faith Malloy shot a 47 to take home medalist honors in the meet held at Nettle Creek. Plano teammates Kendal Flodstrom shot a 54 and KC Polomchak a 57.

Kaneland 177, Sandwich 217

Alijah Campbell shot a 43 to lead the Indians in a dual meet at Edgebrook Golf Course. Melody Goldstein and Jayden Baumbach scored a 52 and a 59. Georgia Vehe finished out the scoring with a 63.
