High school sports roundup for Thursday, March 4: Josie Ness, Sandwich pull away to beat Morris

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Sandwich 36, Morris 23

The Indians outscored Morris 19-7 in the fourth quarter, pulling away for the Interstate Conference win. Josie Ness scored 10 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter and Claire Allen scored seven of her 13 points in the fourth quarter for Sandwich (9-3, 7-3), which turned the tables on a one-point loss to Morris earlier in the week.

BOYS BOWLING

Minooka 3,074, Oswego East 2,802

Senior Liam Fitzpatrick bowled a team-best 597 series for the Wolves. Sophomore Tyler Meixensperger’s 232 was high game for the Wolves and he bowled a 562 series . Sophomore Nick Panozzo and Junior Dylan Funk bowled 544 and 543, respectively, and John Koustsogiannis bowled a 507.

Oswego East’s JV lost 2,872-2,585. Tommy Thiltgen and Ethan Potts bowled Oswego East’s top series of 562 and 551, respectively. Robert Vieira put up a 524 in split squad duty.
