High school sports roundup for Saturday, Jan. 15: Plano boys basketball rallies past Newark

BOYS BASKETBALL

Plano 55, Newark 49

Mason Accidentale scored 18 points, Josh Padilla 16 and the Reapers (9-7) scored 20 points in the fourth quarter to rally from six points down past visiting Newark. Samuel Sifuentes added 11 rebounds. Zach Carlson scored 17 points and Austin Tollefson 12 for Newark.

Glenbrook South 63, Yorkville Christian 58

Jaden Schutt scored 26 points and David Douglas Jr. 16 for the Mustangs in a loss at Class 4A state-ranked Glenbrook South.

The Panthers placed seventh at the Geneseo Invite. Logan Guerrero was third at 126 pounds, Joey Griffin third at 152, AJ Johnson third at 160 and Cruz Ibarra third at 195.
