Kendall County reports 82nd death due to COVID-19

3.21% of county’s population fully vaccinated as of Feb. 18, state data shows

The Kendall County Health Department reported the death of another county resident due to COVID-19 on Thursday, Feb. 18.

In a statement, the health department described the deceased as a female in her 90s.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends during this difficult time,” health department officials said in the statement.

Also on Thursday, health department officials reported 25 new COVID-19 cases among county residents.

That brings the total number of confirmed cases among county residents since the pandemic began to 10,875 with 6,064 listed as in-recovery.

In a related matter, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported Thursday that 3.71% of the state’s population has now been fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

In Kendall County, 3.21% of the population--4,107 residents--had been fully vaccinated as of Thursday, according to IDPH data.

As a comparison, 3.36% of neighboring Grundy County’s population and 3.10% of Will County’s population had been fully vaccinated, according to IDPH data.

Just 2.55% of Kane County’s population had been vaccinated as of Thursday, the IDPH data shows.
