Batavia police say no public threat after report of worker with gun

The report of a worker at a Batavia company making threats with a gun generated a multiagency police response before dawn on Saturday.

A news release issued about two hours later by Batavia Police Department said that officers who arrived at Suncast Corp., which is located in the 1800 block of Suncast Lane, discovered that the subject of the call did not display a firearm nor did they have one in their possession.

The police officers secured the scene and determined there was no threat to the public because of the call.

Information in Police Reports is obtained from the Batavia Police Department. Individuals in Police Reports who have been charged with a crime have not been proved guilty in court.
