Kane County Sheriff’s reports for: Aug. 21-Sept. 5

These are the latest Kane County Sheriff’s reports:

• Luis E. Mendez, 37, of the 5300 block of West Drummond Place, Chicago, was charged Aug. 31 with driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content greater than 0.08%. According to reports, deputies responded at 6:33 a.m. to a report of a pickup truck at Route 47 north of Ramm Road in Maple Park with a person inside who was slumped over. Mendez’s blood alcohol was measured at 0.278%, the report stated.

• Kenneth F. Welter, 52, of the 1600 block of Westgate Drive, York, Pa., was charged Sept. 5 with driving under the influence, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and failure to wear a seatbelt. Deputies noticed Welter’s black Honda shortly before noon when he screeched its tires as it slowed abruptly before turning left onto Herrington Drive in Blackberry Township. Deputies found 10 empty beer cans in the vehicle, the report stated.

• Gerardo Lopez Guido, 38, of the 100 block of North 15th Street, St. Charles, was arrested Aug. 21 on an Elgin warrant for four counts of violating an order a protection. Lopez Guido was also charged with driving without a valid license, driving without insurance and speeding.

• A resident of the 38W900 block of Cox Lane, Blackberry Township, reported Sept. 5 that he had been scammed of $150. The resident thought he was buying tickets to a wrestling event and sent the money via Venmo to the seller, but never received the tickets and the seller’s number was no longer in service.
