Kane County Sheriff’s reports for: March 19-26

These are the latest Kane County Sheriff’s reports:

• A resident of the 0S500 block of Skyline Drive, Batavia Township, reported March 25 that someone accessed his unlocked truck. It appeared that whoever accessed the 2011 blue Silverado pickup truck used the garage door opener to access the garage, as the owner found both garage doors in the open position, the report stated. It did not appear that anything was taken from the truck or the garage. Residents were advised to remove valuables and lock their vehicles, the report stated.

• A resident of the 39W100 block of Fryendall Court, Blackberry Township, reported March 25 that his Ring doorbell camera recorded three individuals in ski masks going through his unlocked 2020 black Ford F250 pickup truck. The trio attempted to enter his wife’s 2014 silver Subaru Impreza, but the door was locked and they couldn’t get in.

• A resident of the 39W200 block of Warner Lane, Blackberry Township, reported March 25 that someone had gone through a 2014 black Acura MDX and 2019 red Ford F150 pickup truck and used the remote from the truck to open her garage door. The vehicles were not damaged and nothing appeared broken or stolen from the garage, the report stated.

• Damage estimated at $1,000 was reported March 26 to the Kane County Veteran’s Memorial plaque and rock at the entrance to the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Geneva. The damage appears to have been caused by a vehicle, the report stated.

• Eliezer Vargas Jr., 30, of the 29W500 block of Country Ridge Drive, Warrenville, was charged March 19 with resisting a police officer, possession of 1 gram of a substance that tested positive for cocaine and an outstanding warrant from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.

• A resident of the 0-99 bloc of Woodwind Drive, Sugar Grove reported March 24 that his 2017 blue Ford F350 pickup truck had been burglarized of a wallet valued at $20 a fishing license and various business cards. The owner did not remember if he locked his truck before going to bed, the report stated.

• A hockey goal net valued at $107 were reported stolen March 24 from the end of a driveway of a house in the 39W400 block of West Haladay Lane, Blackberry Township. A neighbor reported seeing occupants of a newer model Toyota Tacoma pickup truck take the red metal post and white net set, which was set up by the end of the driveway, the report stated.
