Batavia recycling center reopens for Saturday hours

Weekend hours expanded to serve public

BATAVIA – The recycling center at 517 E. Fabyan Parkway in Batavia is now open from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, in addition to its regular Monday through Friday hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., officials announced in a news release.

The Saturday hours offer an opportunity to those who cannot make it during weekday hours to drop off their recyclables, the release stated.

There are fees to drop off some items. Fees must be paid with a credit card or exact cash, the release stated.

Televisions and monitors cost $25 to $35 to recycle based on size. All other electronics are free to drop off.

Clothing, textiles and books can be dropped off at no cost.

Kane County recycling centers do not accept latex paint, aerosol products or propane tanks.

Latex paint and aerosol products can be recycled for a fee at the Ace Hardware, 617 W. State St., Geneva.
