St. Charles History Museum to lead historic walking tours

The St. Charles History Museum on Oct. 7 will lead historic walking tours of downtown St. Charles.

The guided tours will lead the group around the downtown area and share stories and facts about the city’s rich history. Costumed characters portraying select historical figures from St. Charles’ past will be part of the tour.

One of them will be Caroline Howard – St. Charles’ very own historical medium. Caroline Howard will be portrayed by Valerie Gugala, who has portrayed Howard at the museum’s Grave Reminders Cemetery Walks, set to resume in the fall of 2022.

Four tour groups (6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.) will leave the St. Charles History Museum every half hour starting at 6 p.m. Guests are welcome to come to the Museum at 5:30 p.m. to enjoy refreshments provided by the St. Charles Park District.

Tickets are $21 per person and can be purchased through the St. Charles Park District’s website,
