Fox Valley Hands of Hope seeks volunteers

Grief support programs in need of more support

GENEVA – Fox Valley Hands of Hope, based in Geneva, is currently in need of volunteers for its grief support programs, the nonprofit announced in a news release.

Fox Valley Hands of Hope is a nonprofit that serves people suffering from grief due to loss and life-threatening illness at no cost to clients.

Responsibilities include participation in training to prepare them for their supportive roles, and facilitation of group and grief support sessions.

Volunteers provide emotional support, respectful caring, and non-judgmental listening while providing a healing presence to clients and their families.

Interested parties must submit an application by Sept. 1 to be considered for training.

The new volunteer orientation is on Sept. 15 with participants must respond by Sept. 8.
