Acquaviva Ristorante in Batavia to host pet rescue event

Aug. 8 event to benefit St. Charles-based Tiny N Tall Rescue

St. Charles-based Tiny N Tall Rescue has rescued hundreds of dogs of all sizes since being established in 2017.

Shaye Brandonisio, who herself is a dog lover, believes in Tiny N Tall Rescue’s mission. She is organizing a pet rescue event to benefit Tiny N Tall Rescue.

The outdoor event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 8 at Acquaviva Ristorante, 35 N. Water St. in downtown Batavia. The event will feature adoptable dogs, a DJ, food, a complimentary wine tasting, pet vendors and raffles.

Those who bring a donation can claim a complimentary wine tasting ticket. Tiny N Tall Rescue’s needs include wet puppy food, leash and collar sets of all sizes, large and small dog toys and puppy potty pads.

The group specializes in dogs that are 25 pounds and under along with giant breeds like Great Danes and Cane Corsos.

Brandonisio’s family owns Acquaviva Ristorante and she is an agent with Keller Williams Inspire real estate agency in Geneva. Her team is Brando Homes.

“I love animals and I’ve been wanting to help out,” Brandonisio said. “I reached out to them to see what they needed and how we could help them.”

The all-volunteer group is dedicated to providing temporary shelter, veterinary care and behavioral support for small and giant breed dogs as they transition into carefully selected homes.

The event is geared to families.

“We’re trying to make it kind of a family fun day,” Brandonisio said. “It’s just going to be a fun day.”
