Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners to host plant sale, offer guided walk of Batavia Wildflower Sanctuary

BATAVIA – The Batavia Dirt Gardeners are hosting their perennial and native plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 8 at two Batavia locations this year to allow for social distancing.

The east side location is at 1168 Pine St., while the west side location is 415 Maple Lane. Both sales will be outdoors, and guests are asked to wear masks.

Funds raised from the sale supports the Batavia Wildflower Sanctuary and local horticultural scholarships, according to a news release.

The group is also offering two guided walks of the Batavia Wildflower Sanctuary, which is planted and maintained by volunteers from both the Batavia Park District and the Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners. The two walks will be at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 22.

The walks will last about one hour, and will start at the Peg Bond Center, 151 N. Island Ave., Batavia. The walks are free, but donations will be accepted.
