Kane County residents are invited to learn more and provide feedback about proposed improvements to U.S. 30 in Big Rock and Sugar Grove.
According to a news release from the Illinois Department of Transportation, instead of holding a public meeting, details of the project will be available on an interactive website until March 12.
IDOT is looking for public comments on the existing conditions on U.S. 30 from east of Dauberman Road to west of Dugan Road.
Other proposed improvements from west of Dugan Road to Route 47 would widen U.S. 30 from Dugan Road to Municipal Drive to two lanes in each direction with a dedicated turn lane, shoulders and median, the release stated.
East of Municipal Drive to Route 47 will be resurfaced and new wider shoulders added, and will also improve the vertical clearance at the structures carrying U.S. 30 over Route 47, the release stated. Improvements west of Dugan to Dauberman have yet to be determined.
The public can watch a video on the proposed improvements, view exhibits and leave comments at: www.US30EastofDaubermantoIL47.org. In addition to the website, IDOT’s outreach efforts will include the opportunity to leave comments by phone at 847-705-4479. All comments received by March 12 will become part of the official public record.
